Preparing for the class: During the workshop we focus on technique. The amount of running will be modest so please don't skip your workout for the class. The workshop covers a lot of information. If you would like to study beforehand you can buy the ChiRunning book or ChiRunning DVD online. If you want to purchase them at the workshop please let me know beforehand - I like to travel light too. Metronomes are excellent tools for maintaining proper cadence. In ChiRunning, your cadence always remains the same while your stride length changes relative to your speed. To become an efficient runner, one must learn to relax at one's optimal cadence while allowing the stride to lengthen or shorten as necessary. If you have the proper cadence you won't have time to overstride, heel strike, or land heavily. $32.95 at the workshop or at www.chirunning.com. Thank you again and I look forward to meeting you. Feel free to email me (gwen@rungently.com) with any questions. - Gwen |
